Original post on March 13, 2020
The World Health Organization declared COVID-19, the Coronavirus, a pandemic. To do our part in preventing the spread of this virus and to protect our team members, the following policies are in place effective March 13, 2020.

To our Employees

Remote Working
Team members working from one of our staffed offices in Florida or California may, at their discretion, work remotely until April 1, 2020, unless otherwise required.

In-Office Precautions

Sanitation

CLM already has high sanitation standards. However, during the next few weeks, we will be disinfecting surfaces such as doorknobs, refrigerator handles, cabinet handles, and appliances such as coffee makers on a daily basis.

Team members choosing to work from the office should spray their workstations with the provided 71% Alcohol-based sanitizer before leaving the office.

Snacks
CLM will continue to provide packaged snacks for employees. Team members should use hand sanitizer prior to selecting a snack. Sanitizer can always be found near the snacks and coffee maker.

Beverages
As a precaution, please follow these new policies until further notice:

Adopt a Glass
Pint glasses, coffee mugs, and stemware are typically washed and returned to the shelf. Until further notice, adopt a glass and keep it on your desk for your own use.

Clean Before Each Use
Before dispensing water, coffee, or beverages on tap, clean your glass or mug with hot soapy water in the office kitchen. Do not use sinks in the bathrooms to wash dishes (as is always the rule).

If you are refilling your glass with the same beverage, you should still clean it prior to refilling it.

Water Bottles
Under normal circumstances, CLM encourages the use of personal refillable water bottles as part of our effort to minimize our footprint on the environment. For now, please do not refill personal water bottles from the water cooler. Water should only be dispensed into a clean glass or disposable compostable cup.

Illness
Anyone experiencing cold or flu symptoms is prohibited from accessing any CLM office for 2 weeks from the original onset of their symptoms.

Sick Days
If an employee tests positive for COVID-19 and provides a doctor's note to their manager, CLM will provide some supplemental PTO (paid-time-off) that will not be deducted from your available personal/sick days.

Suspending Travel
CLM is suspending business travel until April 30, 2020. This includes scheduled face-to-face meetings as well as deployments to our strategy centers in Chicago, Seattle, Kansas City, Denver, Charlotte, Nashville, and Wilmington.

Health Resources
To date, no team members have tested positive for COVID-19.

Team members covered by CLM’s group health plan, can visit UnitedHealthcare for information on coverage.

Anyone that needs to consult a physician can visit myuhc.com to locate a provider.

The CDC has valuable information to help you ensure that your home’s environment is safe.

The World Health Organization released some myth busters which are also useful.

To Our Clients

Custom Legal Marketing and all Adviatech companies are adopting temporary policies to ensure that we get through this time with minimal disruptions. Fortunately, we already have a robust infrastructure in place that supports our remote team members and employees with flexible office time.

Some strategic project meetings may be placed on hold. If your project is affected, you will be informed by your account manager. Other than that, our daily commitment to your firm and our deliverables are unchanged.

We have been in contact with our vendors that provide supporting services such as network resources, integrations, and reporting services. We feel confident about the policies they have in place and have been assured that there will be no interruptions of service.

Over the next few weeks as most people are working from home, you will hear dogs barking on conference calls, children interrupting phone conversations, or in the middle of a video conference, you might see a cat jump on a laptop followed by an immediate disconnection from the meeting. Chances are, you will probably also be working from home more often than usual so everyone can enjoy a choir of children, pets, doorbells, delivery trucks, and other household noises as we continue to provide the level of support and communication you expect from your marketing team.

From all of us as at Adviatech, Custom Legal Marketing, Law Firm Newswire, and Bigger Law Firm Magazine, be safe and be healthy!
