Google My Business Has a New Attribute for Lawyers

Last week, Google quietly released a few new attributes that will help you communicate your meeting options while social distancing.

Four attributes were released but only one applies to most law firms; Online Appointments.

Since the COVID-19 measures went into place in March, many law firms started offering online consultations and appointments. With the new Online Appointments attribute, prospects don't have to visit your website to know that you're available for virtual appointments. They are able to see it directly on your Google My Business listing like the example below.

The team at Custom Legal Marketing added the Online Appointments attribute to all of our managed GMB listings as soon as this feature was public.

If you're managing your own Google My Business listing, you can easily add the new attribute yourself.

How to add the Online Appointments Attribute to your Google My Business Listing.

Login to Google My Business.

→ Click on “Info”.

Click on Info - Google My Business Attribute

→ Scroll down to “highlights” and click on the pencil icon.

→ Select “online appointments” and then click on “apply”.

That's it! Your Online Appointment attribute should display in your listing within 1-3 hours.
